Steve Kirkpatrick

For more than a decade, Steve led an Ofsted Outstanding (July 2024) primary school in Salford, UK, where pupils achieved outcomes significantly above national benchmarks despite the school’s rapid expansion, increasing complexity, and unwavering commitment to full inclusion. 

Under his leadership, the school relocated to a new building, doubled in size, and for much of his tenure was recognised as an IQM Flagship School for Inclusion - a reflection of his belief that every child who came through the school’s doors should be welcomed, accepted, and valued, regardless of circumstance.

Steve’s success was rooted in his conviction that positive relationships, consistent and considered processes, and a culture of innovation create the conditions for excellence. He believes that for the most disadvantaged children, being at the forefront of innovation is often the key to narrowing the gap. His passion lies in transforming life chances by equipping leaders to harness technology -streamlining efficiency, maximising impact, and freeing them to focus on what they do best: supporting children and families.

Beyond his headship, Steve has served as a lead inspector for Ofsted, a member of the NAHT National Executive, and part of the Commission for Assessment and Accountability. 

In January 2025, he co-founded Intelligent Evidence - the first AI-driven Ofsted evidence evaluation platform for school leaders - marking the start of his journey as an edtech entrepreneur.
