Reducing clinical admin in Wales, not adding to it: Our AI Scribe Journey
A Talk by Kim Morley (Project delivery lead / co-presenter, CDPS)
About this Talk
Session synopsis: Clinicians told us that documentation and admin were taking valuable time away from patient care. We didn’t start with AI, we started with that problem. Working alongside neurodivergent teams, we’re exploring whether an “AI scribe” can reduce the burden of note-taking while keeping clinicians in control, and even support deeper patient connection by freeing them from taking noes. In this session, we’ll share what we’ve learned so far, the challenges we’ve faced, and how problem-first design is shaping our approach to introducing AI in everyday practice.
Session takeaways:
- A clearer understanding of how problem-first design shapes the use of AI in clinical practice.
- Practical insights into collaborating with neurodivergent teams when developing digital tools.
- Awareness of the opportunities and challenges of introducing AI scribes to reduce admin burden. Hosted by: Centre for Digital Public Services (CDPS)
